California’s bounty is on every plate. What’s on your plate?

California has always been a leader in producing fresh, high-quality food. But until our recent historic drought, many Californians didn’t know how many fruits, nuts, vegetables, proteins and fibers are grown right here in our state- and are more aware of the water it takes to grow the food we need and love.

We want you to join Cultivate California’s “Keep the State on Your Plate” movement. Show off the great foods you are eating from California. It could be as small as a pile of almonds or as big as a juicy half-pound hamburger. Just take a look at your plate and ask yourself this simple question, “Is California on my plate?” We bet it is, and we’d love to hear about it. Post a pic and use the hashtag:

Throwing a party is a great reason to have friends over and try out new recipes. However, typical party fare is usually loaded with calories busting the hard work you have been doing since the start of the New Year. At your party, try offering your guests some healthier recipes to keep them full and energized without ruining their healthy resolutions. Many California-grown ingredients are currently in season to help you create these recipes quickly and easily without blowing your food budget.
