Margherita California Avocado Toast

A simple, but delicious California staple, avocado toast can be found in restaurants across the state- but even if you can't make it out to brunch, you can still enjoy this delicious recipe right at home. Avocado toast with a twist- this pizza-inspired version is practically a sure thing.

Ingredients:

  • 1 slice whole wheat bread
  • 2 slices fresh buffalo mozzarella
  • 1/2 ripe Fresh California Avocado, seeded, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 cherry tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 basil leave, chopped
  • Balsamic reduction, to taste

Directions

  1. Toast the bread with the mozzarella slices on top, until the mozzarella is slightly melted and the bread toasted.
  2. Place the California Avocado slices on top of the melted cheese.
  3. Top with sliced tomatoes and fresh basil.
  4. Drizzle with balsamic glaze, if desired.
